Lisa Bowman provides biblical counseling for CHC members. Lisa recalls as a 9th grader becoming aware of a deep desire to attend to the hurting. It was then she determined to become a counselor. That inner calling led her to receive a Master’s degree in social work with an emphasis on counseling from Western Michigan University in 1998. Since that time, she has provided compassionate counseling to individuals across the life span struggling with issues such as: sexual abuse, trauma, suicidality, anxiety, depression, teen pregnancy, aging, terminal illness, grief and loss. Through ministering to the broken hearted she has become even more resolved to help push back the effects of the fall. Over the years she has developed both professionally and spiritually through involvement in continuing education trainings and workshops as well as reading, Bible studies and life experience. She is wholeheartedly devoted to the power of the Word and scriptural principles inform and direct her counseling process. As a counselor, she is firmly grounded in the belief that Jesus is the Wonderful Counselor and that He has promised to provide a helper, the Spirit of Truth, to guide us into all truth. As she counsels, the techniques, approaches, and resources she utilizes will unearth long standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be hindering you from experiencing life more abundant. She looks forward to meeting with you on your journey towards renewed hope and wellness. Whether you are: at a crossroads, are needing extra support through a challenging circumstance, are ready for your life story to experience restoration or are ready to be free from bondage to fear, shame, depression, bitterness, addictions or bad habits you are invited to come. Lisa considers it a joy to join the CHC vision of comprehensive ministry to the body, soul and spirit of members. Her prayer is to be a resource used to help bring victory, healing, wholeness and purpose to the body of Christ. Lisa and her husband have been married 19 years; their family includes 2 daughters and 2 sons who they are passionate about training up for the Lord. They also have a rescue dog who joined their family 3 years ago, enriching their hearts and home. Lisa enjoys reading, a full coffee cup, Pinterest inspired DIY projects, worshiping, pet therapy from her pup and embracing the moment.
