CHC Introduces Dr. Rebecca Huizen as Part of its Physician Team

Dr. Rebecca Huizen, D.O

Pediatric Physician

As a pediatrician, I am very excited to be part of Christian Healthcare Centers and have unrestricted freedom to treat the whole person- spirit, soul and body.   I will never forget my elation the first time that Mark Blocher explained to me the vision for CHC.  I knew immediately that this was where God wanted me to be.  Mark told me how God had impressed on his heart long ago that there would come a time that Christian medical professionals right here in our nation would need a place that would be a refuge to practice medicine in accordance with Biblical convictions.  Those words brought tears to my eyes and such hope to my heart.

There is much pressure in the medical community for healthcare providers to not bring up anything related to Jesus with their patients.  Yet, people’s greatest needs are their spiritual needs and ignoring talking with our patients about Jesus is a great disservice to them.  When I have a young person in my office seeking help for emotional pain after the death of a loved one, I need to have the freedom to talk with her about the One “who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Ps. 147:3)” or I am only treating part of who she is.  I am so thankful for a place to freely be able to join up with God is doing my patient’s lives.

At CHC, healthcare providers will be using the technology and knowledge from evidence-based medicine that God has given to us, but this will be combined with prayer and a humble attitude that God is the ultimate healer. Much prayer has already gone into this ministry and this will continue to be a place of prayer.  We will pray with patients individually and also will meet corporately as staff to pray for our patient’s medical and spiritual needs.  In the midst of a medical system that is increasingly hostile to Christian values, I see each Christian Healthcare Center as an oasis where God’s eternal truths are powerfully combined with excellent medical care.
